traditional media personnel to adapt to the new environment now.

In his session during the training he gave
the media personnel the differences between traditional media and social media
and also made a clear advantage between them such as social media being an
engagement platform whilst traditional media is through reach or frequency and
also social media being cost effective and traditional media being costly.
The training was meant to equip the media
personnel with the skills on how to include social media in their traditional way
of providing information to the public and to also improve the way they do it
by adapting to the advantages and new technologies social media produces for
them to be able to reach out to the mass number of people within a relatively
short time.
The media personnel were given some hands
on practical during the session to see how effective their understanding to
adapting and including social media to improve traditional media would become.
Mr. Simon Amoh, Mr. Robert Kuzoe, Madam
Efua Falconer and Mr. Kennedy Fosu who are heads in various department of MTN
Ghana in their session also gave motivational notes and shared some of their
experiences in media works as they have been there before and haven’t been able
to continue their media works because of their passionate commitment to serve
MTN and make sure to provide support for media personnel through workshops like
the one they are being involved now.
MTN involved media personnel from various
media houses such as Skyypowerfm,beachfm,Empirefm,Smartnewsgh.blogspot.com,citifm,radioshama,
radioahanta, joynews and many others who are into media works. The training was
very successful at the end and they were very glad to be introduced to such
high technology platform since most the them didn’t know about such advantages.
They added that the training will help them a lot and plead that MTN keep
giving them such opportunities like these to sharpen and improve their skills.
