MTN PREMIERES “JUSTICE LEAGUE” AT ACCRA AND WEST HILLS SILVERBIRD CINEMAS

MTN GHANA PAYS OVER GH₵ 38 MILLION IN INTEREST TO MOBILE MONEY SUBSCRIBERS

MTN Ghana has made payments of over GH₵ 38,3 million in interest to about 8.4 million Mobile Money customers and agents from January to September 2017.  The GHC 38.3 Million comprises of GHC 13.6 million paid in May for quarter one and GHC 11.5 million paid in August for quarter two and GHC 13.3million paid in quarter three this year. MTN made the payment in collaboration with the 16 partner banks of MTN Mobile Money. The third quarter 2017 payment brings the total to over GH ₵ 83.3million in interest payments made by MTN to its mobile money subscribers since January 2016.  Commenting on the interest payment for quarter three, the General Manager for MTN Mobile Financial Services, Eli Hini said, “the consistent honouring of interest payments is a testament to MTN’s commitment to ensuring that customers of MTN Mobile Money enjoy the full benefits of the service.” Mr. Hini also advised all Mobile Money subscribers to be vigilant and wary of fraudsters who target mobile

MTN REINTRODUCES CASH OUT FEATURE TO ENHANCE CUSTOMER SECURITY

MTN Ghana has announced the reintroduction of the ‘Allow Cash-Out’ feature on its Mobile Money Platform to enhance customer security for withdrawal transactions. Starting November 4, 2017, customers will see the “Allow Cash-Out” feature on their Mobile Money Menu and this will enable only the customer to initiate and authorize cash out before an agent can process the transaction. In addition to the “Allow Cash-Out” Feature, MTN has put in place another measure where agents will no longer have to write down customer numbers in their transaction book before any transaction is made. Agents have now been issued with new transaction booklets in order not to disclose customer numbers. The Foundation is inviting members of the general public to identify individuals in their communities who have done exceptionally well for others and nominate them to be honored as a Hero of Change. MTN REMAINS COMMITTED TO THE FIGHT AGAINST MOBILE MONEY FRAUD

MTN Ghana writes in reference to an article published in The Finder newspaper on  October 23rd 2017, under the headline Mobile Money Fraud alarming.  In the publication, the newspaper alledges amongst other things that staff of Telecom companies are involved in Mobile Money fraud.   The allegations made in the report which create negative impressions about the industry, are inaccurate. MTN wishes to state that the Company takes the data protection laws of Ghana and the  privacy of  customers very seriously.  Accordingly MTN has absolutely no tolerance for anyone (be it Mobile Money agents, employees)  who may seek to violate the very stringent policies and processes the Company has put in place to protect customer data and privacy. The initiative identifies and honours people who through personal sacrifice brighten lives in their communities in extraordinary and impactful ways.
